The International Executive Programme of Euromed Marseille will be further enhanced with the launching in the fall of 2008 of the Maritime MBA. The objective of this one-year, part-time MBA programme is to strengthen the management capacities of the people working within the maritime companies and organisations in order to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to be effective leaders in a rapidly expanding maritime industry and its global complexities.

A strong emphasis on maritime related management research is a cornerstone of such an ambition. The creation of a research centre specialised in maritime management is therefore a logical consequence of this ambition.
Diffusion of future oriented visions and research within the maritime industry is another objective of Euromed Marseille. The organisation of high-level international maritime conferences is the instrument that has been selected to achieve this goal.

The maritime industry is confronted with major challenges, such as rapidly expanding international trade and the impact on the global shipping and ports sectors, the impacts of business cycles, global competition, resource-induced geopolitics, strategic alliances, complex supply chains, multi-national and multi-cultural manpower, environmental and safety constraints, and so on.
